la alhambra, te quiero

maybe granada is my favorite city in spain. now i´m not quite sure! last night we took a long walk up into the hills and stumbled upon a view that was unforgettable: the alhambra at sunset. we (along with many stinky eurohippies and other tourists) sat and watched the sun move across the sky as we sipped frozen orange juice. the view was perfect.

and now we are in the internet cafe, having just finished our trip to the alhambra itself. i am glad we did everything in this order - cordoba, sevilla, granada. otherwise if we had started with the alhambra we might have felt a little let down by the time we got to the others. it is so breathtaking and majestic. we spent about 3 hours walking around the grounds, so i am exhausted and really sweaty, but it was worth every minute. i don´t think i can describe it enough to do it justice. the details in everything, from the plaster to the tiles, just blow me away.

tomorrow we are back to madrid and then on to barcelona for the water, gaudi architecture, and a little seafood paella. i can´t believe our trip is coming to an end in less than a week! i feel like we have done so much but at the same time i have felt so lazy since all i want to do is take naps and eat ice cream. but it is really nice to be able to relax and not think about work for one second. i am sure jim is itching to get back to work (actually, i know he is - he already sent one email to give his comments on something) but i have absolutely NO desire. is it bad that i haven´t even finished one vacation and i´m already planning our next?
