tryptophan hangover
is it possible to have a tryptophan hangover? i woke up this morning feeling awful. i am proud to say that i didn't completely gorge myself like i feared i would with baby knapp in my belly, but i certainly overate. you know the drill: turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn pudding, cranberries, rolls with butter, and of course pumpkin pie with whipped cream. name one thing on that list that i could honestly be expected to pass up. after dinner i was so stuffed i thought the little one would be forced to make an early exit just for lack of space. i had some time to recover before bed, but now i seriously feel like i went drinking last night - bloodshot eyes, dry mouth, fatigued, and completely out of it. good thing i am at work and not wasting a gorgeous day off feeling like crap.
we did have a wonderful thanksgiving, though. it was our first back in az in four years! the first three we spent in san francisco - our first was with jim's and my family, and we took everyone out for moroccan food and belly dancing, and the other three were at our apartment with my mom. last thanksgiving we were in buenos aires, which is where i'd like to spend every holiday. but being in az was good. we had breakfast with my dad, sis and her husband, then snacks around lunchtime with jim's family, then dinner with my mom, sis and her husband, and our good family friends. it was the perfect amount of socializing, hanging out, traveling, and food. well, maybe a little too much food, but i think it's worth the hangover.
