catching up

i realized i haven't yet posted from sunny phoenix, arizona, of which i am now officially a resident! yes, i am here (finally). it is 90 degrees today and i am not working all week. things are good. very good.

i also realized that i never even posted about our law school reunion last weekend! all i have to say about that is, asu class of 2001 is in the house! boy, my class has not changed a bit. they had to usher us all out of the place when it was over, and the lady in charge asked us if we would come back every year. of course it doesn't hurt when your class is the most recent grads at the thing (it had classes from 2001, 1996, 1991, and so on). but i am still taking credit for the fact that our class seriously kicks ass. it was great to reconnect with people, but i do have to say i am a bit disappointed that there weren't more randoms. a special appearance by trixie would have made my century.

anywho, i got here for good on friday and have been super busy ever since. i had a friend's baby shower on saturday, which was lovely and really fun. that turned into an all day girls' day with my fave law school girlfriends, which i desperately needed and loved. those girls are so fantastic - i really don't feel like i ever left.

then bday celebrations (yes, i am now 31) with my family and jim's and then more open houses. we are looking to buy a place downtown in the historic district, so last weekend when i was visiting we saw about 15-20 houses and then like 5 more on sunday. it is good, because we are seeing a lot and seeing what is out there. but i don't know if we are completely sold on the whole buying thing right now. we will just have to see. all i know is that this little one is coming in february, whether we are ready or not, so we need to make sure we keep that in mind. even though sometimes it is really hard! i am going with a realtor today to see some super cute places in the story district that i am very excited about! fingers crossed.

all in all, things are good. the move is over and all of our stuff has (safely????) arrived in phx and is now in a storage facility. we are hanging out in the apartment that jim is staying in for his detail, where we will be until dec. 12. we will make some decisions on rent vs. buy in the next few weeks, and then we can get settled. the weather is beautiful, i am seeing a lot of my family and friends, and i am going to the camelback inn spa on thursday for a maternity massage and facial, compliments of my wonderful, kind, thoughtful, caring, and somewhat guilty husband. i couldn't ask for more.
