ding dong!
"well, i did see what i believe to be a little . . . ding dong."
oh no she didn't.
with that phrase, my friends, my ultrasound technician informed us that we are having a boy. a boy! with a ding dong! we saw him today, and i am happy to report that he no longer looks like an alien. he is perfectly healthy. we saw his spine, his nose, lips, heart (complete with 4 chambers), stomach, kidneys, legs, feet, arms, hands, and apparently his ding dong. healthy, with a strong heart beat and lots and lots of movement (which i have been feeling for the last few weeks). apparently he was none too pleased that we had chosen today for his showtime, because he was completely uncooperative. so much so that a 30 min appointment turned into an hour and 15 min. we were sitting there watching him for so long, we even got a yawn out of him. pretty cool.
so how do we feel about a boy? jim is super excited and i couldn't be happier. before i got pregnant i thought i wanted two little girls, just like me and katie. but then the moment i realized how fragile these little lives are, all i wanted was a healthy baby. when she told me we were having a boy, i freaked for a split second as i thought "what? no barbies? i don't know a thing about football." but then i pictured our son looking just like a miniature jim knapp, likely exiting the womb in glasses with a book in hand, and i started bawling. if he takes after his dad in the least bit, baby knapp is going to be the sweetest little boy around. i can't wait to meet him in february.

I hate this blog. I'm tough as nails! I should not be brought to teary-eyedness so easily. So sweet and adorable. Love that tummy. You are gorgeous like this!
I thought I was psychic. I guess not, cuz i thought it was a girl. But, I love that it's a boy! I'll start skateboard shopping. ;)
