long time, no post
it has been a while. i have been completely consumed by life, i guess. i don't know how to describe it. i don't have much to show for the last few weeks, save one trip to chicago, one visit to the movies, party planning for a boss who is leaving, and a whole lot of stress at work. i guess that is kind of a lot.
chicago was great. i love the windy city! if it wasn't so FREAKING cold in the winters there, might consider it as a home base someday. the architecture is awesome. we took an architecture cruise on the river that i think may have been the highlight of the trip for me. until recently i never realized how much i like looking at buildings. i find so much beauty in the design and small little details, and the fact that it can be produced on such a huge (and heavy) scale is pretty cool. the art deco ones were my favorite. i guess the art deco anything is really my favorite - i love the lines, geometric shapes, black and white, everything about that period. anyway, we went to a cubs game, visited the king tut exhibit, ate a TON, and caught up with s & m. it was so fun!
but the day before i left for chicago, we got some great news! my sister and her hubby are moving to phx!!!!!! matt got a great job with a design firm in scottsdale and they are headed to phx for him to start on the 18th. i think katie is really sad to leave sf - i mean, who wouldn't be? i think she is feeling all of the emotions i had when i left. you really can't think of a reason to leave sf. it truly is the most perfect city (except for that whole most expensive city in the us ranking). and i think the fact that they are moving quickly helps and hurts things. it helps because you don't really have time to be super sad about it, since there is so much to do. but it hurts because i think you feel somewhat robbed of time, like you didn't get to finish a job you started. but i am stoked that they will be in phx! it gives us all the more reason to get out there.
