drive by

yesterday my mom picked soren up so we could meet with jim's parents to talk renovation plans. when i got him from her, she told me that i needed to sign some papers at daycare the next day. apparently, soren was the innocent victim of a crime: a drive by biting.

they gave jim the baby police report this morning. the report reads: "soren was sitting by the soft climber inside, when another child came over and bit him." as far as i know, they weren't in a fight, there was no provocation, it was just someone cruising by who felt an urge to bite the sh*t out of poor little soren's arm. i checked it out and he has a little red oval where the child made quite an impression.

in talking to my coworkers, i discovered that this is a common occurrence. and apparently they won't tell you the name of the perpetrator either. this is probably a good thing, as i know more than a couple of moms who would stalk the perp's mother in the parking lot or something insane like that. i don't know if i'd resort to that, but i'd for sure talk trash about him/her once i found out who it was.

even though i'm sure they've been instructed not to tell, i'm still going to try to squeeze it out of one of them. i want to know who took a bite out of my little baby!
