i don't know whether it's because we've lived in so many places or because i just have a very mobile group of friends, i have been blessed with many friends (also known as hoes) living in different parts of the country. this weekend some of those hoes came out to visit little baby soren. my closest friends from college made their way to az to hang out with the baby. we had suave (415), wilm (805), mighty (619), plus an extended day visit from jackson (480).

it was his first visit from any out-of-towners, and he loved it. well, i am not sure if he loved it, but i sure did. my house has never been cleaner! i certainly didn't expect the girls to do housework while on vacation, but they completely took care of us. it was wonderful. we did a lot of hanging out, reading magazines, went to a street festival, went out to dinner (for the first time since he was born) at coronado cafe, and took a walk through the japanese friendship garden. even jim was off baby duty on saturday so he was able to read, drink coffee, and go to a show that night.

i am so lucky to have such great friends. i can't believe that we all met 14 years ago - time really does fly. there is something different about the friends you make in college. i think it is probably because you go through so much growth over that time period, trying to figure out who you are going to be and what you want out of life. i know that i can depend on all of these girls for anything, and i really feel like we will be friends forever. i love you hoes!
