no whammies

and another day passes without little baby k. last night i was sure i was going into labor, but no dice. i was walking around trader joe's in serious pain, thinking for sure i'd be holding him by this morning. but then nothing.

went to the doctor today. i was sure she'd tell me that she wanted me to go straight to the hospital, that i was ready to deliver. ummmm, no. i am only 1.5 cm dilated and my cervix is 70% effaced. what is the deal? i literally feel like the weight of the free world is resting on my pelvis, but this kid is moving at a snail's pace! i've been having what i think are contractions, but of course they are without any pattern, so it is probably just my body gearing up for the real thing. all i know is i've been pretty uncomfortable since yesterday afternoon, so there has to be something going on down there, right?

we decided to schedule an induction, just because most people deliver on their own once they schedule something, and so the baby doesn't get too big. he has been growing quite a bit these last few weeks. so thursday i'll get the gel, and if nothing happens, then friday morning we will start the pitocin. so no matter what, i'll be cradling the little bean by friday night. (i hope). i'll keep you posted.
